(JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash.) – A Green Beret with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) jumps into American Lake from UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Dec. 8, 2020. Following the helocast, the Green Beret swam 1 km from the center of the lake to the shore during the Menton Team Competition, an event 1st SFG (A) holds each year in celebration of its history. This year there were six teams competing from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Battalions, Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), and 97th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne).
