A 3D printer creates a displacement ball used for filtering water at General Support Maintenance (GSM) Company, 3d Maintenance Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG), Okinawa, Japan, April 8, 2021. Service members with the Japan Ground Self Defense Force toured the GSM bay and learned about the capabilities and benefits of 3D printing supplies on Okinawa. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III MEF’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
