Steve Waddell, Vice Commander Seconder Fleet, left rear, receive a brief from Capt. Daryl Trent, Deputy Commander, Carrier Air Wing 8, in USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) ready room 5, April 18, 2021. During the visit, the officials met with Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 12 commander and other warfare commanders to receive an in-depth look at underway operations and significant milestones made during Ford's last independent steaming event (ISE) as part of post-delivery test and trials. During Ford's final ISE, she will complete combat systems ship qualification trials, integrated CSG operations and cyclic flight operations.
