Capt. Talal Tassi, the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team’s Civil Affairs Officer, interviews with local media prior to an outreach event at the Halit Coka School in Bathore Village, Albania, Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Tassi was able to identify a need and saw the opportunity leave an impact on their host nation beyond just military training. As a result, the 53rd IBCT was able to donate 100 backpacks, and school supplies for special needs students, before redeploying home after participating in DEFENDER-Europe 21.
