MARS Task Force veterans examine a .50 caliber machine gun during a memorial stone dedication in honor of the MARS Task Force on Fort Bragg, N.C., Sept. 14. The Task Force played a key role in capturing the Burma Road from the Japanese during World War II and are often called "mulepackers" for the animals they used to carry supplies, which included 75mm pack howitzers, through the rugged Burma mountains.
