Lance Cpl. Nicholas Sullivan, a combat engineer with Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 and a Lincoln, Ark., native, rides in the basket of a heavy equipment vehicle during the rebuilding of the San Diego County Sherriff’s Department rappel tower aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Sept. 18. The old rappel tower became unsafe after about 30 years of use due to termite and weather damage.
