Members of the Guyanese Defense Force (GDF) are instructed by U.S. Soldiers from 1st Battalion 3rd Special Forces Group Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA 7-326) on a vehicle extraction during Tradewinds 2021, Camp Stephenson, Guyana, June 16. ODA Soldiers joined Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents and the Infantry Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) as advisors for the exercise. Jamaican Defense Force and GDF troops experienced hands-on training to ensure proficiency in skills needed for a successful extraction. Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined, and interagency training focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
