Members of the Jamaican Defense Force (JDF) conduct a vehicle extraction during Tradewinds 2021, Camp Stephenson, Guyana, June 16. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents joined U.S. Soldiers from 1st Battalion 3rd Special Forces Group Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA 7-326) and the Infantry Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) as advisors for the exercise. Guyanese Defense Force (GDF) and JDF troops received guidance on tactics necessary to ensure safe and successful extractions. Vehicle extraction training is a crucial asset due to the potential danger placed on personnel executing these extractions daily. Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined, and interagency training focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
