U.S. Marine Corps Drill Instructors with Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, carry the series guidons off the parade deck as part of the graduation ceremony held aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, on July 1, 2021. The graduating Marines returned the guidon to their drill instructor signifying the end of recruit training. Drill instructors will then march their platoon guidons back to the Recruit Training Regiment headquarters building where they will be stored and awaiting to be utilized for the next platoon. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation including training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills and Marines Corps customs and traditions.
