Hawaii Army National Guard Soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Aurelio Tumpap, a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer with Detachment 1, Alpha Company, 3rd Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment, 103rd Troop Command performs the sprint as part of the sprint-drag-carry (SDC) event during the Army Combat Fitness Test, Waimanalo, Hawaii, April 2, 2021. The SDC measures upper and lower body explosive power, flexibility, and dynamic balance assisting with tasks like a buddy drag, throwing a hand grenade and employing progressive levels of force in man-to-man contact. The six-event readiness assessment, ACFT, is intended to replace the current three-event Army Physical Fitness Test, which has been around since 1980.
