U.S. Marines with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit volunteer to help with restoration projects by clearing rooms of unused wooden boards on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Harbor Oct. 4, 2012. Oct. 3-8, Marines and Sailors of the 13th MEU, I Marine Expeditionary Brigade, will participate in numerous community outreach events including the Italian Heritage Day parade, urban search and rescue demonstration, park restoration projects and hospital visits.
