Sailors from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) quietly read and take notes before beginning their Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE) course. NCPACE is a seven week course taught by a civilian instructor and provides college credit free of tuition for sailors. Tortuga, commanded by Cmdr. John Barnett, is part of the only forward-deployed amphibious ready group and is currently operating in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility.
