U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Brandon Miller, of the 177th Intelligence Squadron, sits for a rest as his support and gear (SAG) team members tend to him during a break from the rugged dirt path route of the 107.3-mile version of the Maah Daah Hey Trail ultramarathon in the beautiful badlands of North Dakota July 31, 2021. His SAG team provides him with food, liquids and equipment to stay cool and dry at checkpoints between the stages of the race. He is changing socks and shoes at every check point. Miller completed the ultramarathon winding up and down hills and valleys in 30 hours, 17 minutes. The Maah Daah Hey Trail course has 11,905 feet of cumulative elevation gain and continues through day and night. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by David H. Lipp)
