Los Angeles Garrison and Space Systems Command leadership greet Air Force Materiel Command leadership during the AFMC command team’s visit to Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, Oct. 26, 2021. U.S. Air Force Gen. Arnold W. Bunch, Jr., AFMC commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. David Flosi, AFMC command chief, held an All-Call regarding AFMC’s declaration of Initial Operational Capability as the U.S. Space Force’s Servicing Command for all Space Force installation-assigned Airmen. The Department of the Air Force created this unique and first-time serving MAJCOM structure to ensure Airmen assigned to the Space Force receive the same development opportunities, functional and administrative support as those as U.S. Air Force Installations.
