Pfc. Khalfani Harris, a native of Tampa, Florida, and World Class Athlete Program Soldier-athlete claimed his last required major win at the Senior Grand Slam event, held at the USA Taekwondo National Center of Excellence, Colorado Springs, Colorado on December 3, 2021. The Senior Grand Slam is one of three ‘major’ events that count towards selection to the team, accompanied by the National Championships and Grand Prix Final. Harris won by referee’s punitive action for accumulating ten penalties against his opponents in both the round of 16 and the semi-finals. Harris defeated his opponent by point gap in the finals 41-3.
