Jack Holder, a World War II veteran, speaks to students during a visit to Mokapu Elementary School, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 6, 2021. The visit was coordinated by the Best Defense Foundation in order to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Holder was on Ford Island the morning of December 7, 1941, and having survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, went on to complete over a hundred missions as a flight engineer in the U.S. Navy.
