U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Juan Simon, a food service specialist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, prepares pico de gallo during the annual Multinational Force Culinary Competition at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Dec. 16, 2021. The MCAS Iwakuni Food Service Office and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force hosted the competition to recognize food service excellence and teamwork by testing participants’ culinary skills within a set time limit and requiring the use of pre-determined ingredients for their dishes.
