A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon assigned to Patrol Squadron (VP) 47 at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, receives fuel by a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 506th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron during exercise Sea Dragon 2022 Jan. 19, 2022, near the Philippine Sea. The intent of this mission was to train P-8A Poseidon pilots to tank with the KC-135 during antisubmarine warfare while tracking a simulated submarine target known as an expendable mobile anti-submarine warfare training target.
