U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Dallas Houston, the Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) commander with Combat Logistic Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), maintains accountability of simulated evacuees during a NEO exercise on Camp Hansen, Japan, Feb. 1, 2022. Marines and Sailors came together to execute the NEO exercise which hastily processes and transports evacuees from an area of operation. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
