U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Angel Marmolejo, a radio operator with Combat Logistic Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) processes simulated evacuees during a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) exercise on Camp Hansen, Japan, Feb. 1, 2022. Marines and Sailors came together to execute the NEO exercise which hastily processes and transports evacuees from an area of operation. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
