U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Salomon Halliburton, a Light Armored Vehicle commander with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) prepares to transport Marines with Combat Logistic Battalion 31, 31st MEU, for a Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) exercise on Camp Hansen, Japan, Feb. 1, 2022. Marines and Sailors came together to execute the NEO exercise which hastily processes and transports evacuees from an area of operation. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
