JUNEAU, Alaska (March 9, 2022) An Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 1 TALON robot investigates an inert training device during an improvised explosive device (IED) drill held while the unit is in Juneau, Alaska, supporting Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2022 (AE22), March 9, 2022. Navy EOD works with the fleet, joint force and government agencies to confront a wide range of explosive hazards in austere and urban environments. AE22 is a biennial defensive exercise for U.S. Northern Command and Canadian Armed Forces designed to demonstrate and exercise our ability to rapidly deploy and operate in the Arctic.
