JUNEAU, Alaska (March 10, 2022) A Navy explosive ordnance disposal technician, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 1, conducts a procedure on an inert training device while supporting the Juneau Police Department (JPD) in an improvised explosive device (IED) drill at the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau, Alaska, March 10, 2022. EODMU-1 and the JPD used the training as an opportunity to exchange best practices and build interagency cooperation. EODMU-1 is in Juneau supporting Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2022 (AE22), which is a biennial defensive exercise for U.S. Northern Command and Canadian Armed Forces designed to demonstrate and exercise our ability to rapidly deploy and operate in the Arctic.
