U.S. Air Force Col. Eric Erickson, commander of the 177th Fighter Wing Medical Group and the New Jersey National Guard Joint Surgeon, and Albanian Armed Forces Maj. Petro Thanasi, a land forces medical branch chief doctor, walk towards the medical facilities at Zall-Herr garrison, Albania, April 5, 2022. Erickson and Thanasi were participating in a workshop to assess AAF combat medic capabilities and to determine future means to increase medical familiarity, interoperability and safety between the U.S. and AAF military personnel. The more than 20 year New Jersey–Albania Partnership is one of 22 European partnerships that make up the U.S. European Command State Partnership Program and one of 65 worldwide partnerships that make up the National Guard State Partnership Program.
