220428-N-SI601-1044 YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 28, 2022) Personnel Specialist 1st Class Melvin Malone, president of the Diversity and Heritage Committee, from Detroit, speaks to the crew during a Holocaust Remembrance event held on the mess deck aboard the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). At the event, Sailors honored those who were directly affected by the Holocaust and listened to the stories of victims and survivors. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
