Mississippi Valley Division Commanding General Maj. Gen. Diana Holland travels with New Orleans District (MVN) Commander Col. Steven Murphy, MVN Chief of Emergency Operations Heath Jones and MVN Operations Project Manager Victor Landry down the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) to observe ongoing clearing and dredging operations. Hurricane Ida caused significant shoaling and delivered a lot of debris, blocking this critical navigation artery. The Vicksburg District supported this effort with the M/V Fred Lee.
