BALTIC SEA (May 20, 2022) – Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit load vehicles onto a Landing Craft, Utility (LCU), attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4, aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), in the Baltic Sea, May 20, 2022. Gunston Hall, assigned to the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is participating in the Estonian-led exercise Siil 22 (Hedgehog 22 in English). Siil 22 brings together members of the Estonian Defense Force and U.S. Sailors and Marines under Task Force 61/2 to enhance Allied interoperability and preserve security and stability in the Baltic region.
