BALTIC SEA (May 20, 2022) – The Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), prepares to onload a Landing Craft, Utility (LCU), attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4 , in the Baltic Sea, May 20, 2022. Gunston Hall, assigned to the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is participating in the Estonian-led exercise Siil 22 (Hedgehog 22 in English). Siil 22 brings together members of the Estonian Defense Force and U.S. Sailors and Marines under Task Force 61/2 to enhance Allied interoperability and preserve security and stability in the Baltic region.
