Gen. Mike Minihan, Air Mobility Command commander, and family members of Col. Gail Halverson unveil a C-17 Globemaster III renamed the “Spirit of the Candy Bomber” in Provo, Utah, May 20, 2022. The dedication ceremony was in honor of the legendary World War II pilot best known as the “Candy Bomber” or “Uncle Wiggly Wings” for dropping candy to German children during the Berlin Airlift from 1948-49.
