Adolescent girls attend a USAID-funded youth life skills session implemented by UNICEF in Abyan Governorate, Yemen in March 2022. USAID funds life skills, psychosocial support, and socioeconomic assistance programs for children and adolescents in schools with high dropout rates who are at risk of or affected by child marriage, recruitment to armed forces and groups, child labor, and school dropout. To date, USAID has reached more than 3,700 adolescents (2,000 girls and 1,700 boys) through these programs. In addition, more than 30,400 adolescents (19,400 girls and 11,000 boys) were reached through the peer-to-peer education and adolescent initiatives in schools.
