Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Makayla Carroll, an Optometry Technician, with the Navy Reserve, Navy Medical Readiness Training Command Camp Pendleton, and Lt. j.g. Emily Zineil, a Behavioral Health Specialist with the U.S. Public Health Service are taking part in a Combative’s course designed to teach basic self defense skills during the Tropic Care Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) 2022 on the island of Kaua’i. This is just one of many additional trainings IRT service members can participate in to bolster their skills outside of their usual speciality along with building joint service cohesion.
