Aaron Abney, a 29-year-old rifleman from Richmond, Ky., both from 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division cover a simulated casualty with a thermal blanket to regulate body temperature while conducting the trauma lane portion of a combat life-saver class Oct. 11 at Fort Campbell, Ky. This type of training teaches non-medical personnel to apply treatment to their battle buddies in combat situations when medics are not present, which greatly improves chances of survival.
