U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Edward J. Cochrane, a field medical service technician with Bravo Surgical Company, 3d Medical Battalion, is awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from Chief Hospital Corpsman Elmer Aquino with Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pearl Harbor, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, June 30, 2022. On Jan. 12, 2022, Cochrane saved the life of Aquino. After finding Aquino unconscious, Cochrane utilized his basic life support techniques to provide lifesaving intervention.
