Capt. Jeremy Shamblee, USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) executive officer, and burial detail stand at parade rest during a burial at sea ceremony on the ship’s aircraft elevator 3, July 12, 2022. During the ceremony, 30 service members and family remains were committed to the sea. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting an independent steaming operation.
