Oregon Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Mark Crosby, Assistant Adjutant General-Air, and his son-in-law (center) arrive at the 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team (CST), Oregon National Guard operations center located near Hayward Field, University of Oregon, in Eugene, Ore., during the World Track and Field Championships, July 15, 2022. They were escorted by Army National Guard Maj. Richard Hosmer, Commander, 102nd CST. Crosby spoke with members of the CST and observed the operations they were conducting during the Championships, which included working with other local, state and federal authorities to conduct ongoing threat assessments and regular sweeps of the area to help ensure the safety of all participants and observers at the event. After the visit, Crosby and his son-in-law attended the Championships’ opening ceremony and watched the track and field events. The World Track and Field Championships ran from July 15-24, and it was the first time the World Championships have been held in the United States.
