Oregon Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Kayla Smith (center), Survey Team Chief, 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team, Oregon National Guard, patrols the grounds of the World Track and Field Championships, University of Oregon, in Eugene, Ore., with a Joint Hazard Assessment Team (JHAT), July 16, 2022. The team is composed of members of local, state and federal agencies who stand ready to prevent and respond to hazards, including Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) materials. The JHAT regularly patrolled the grounds to conduct sweeps and evaluate any potential threats in order to help ensure the safety of the participants and observers at the Championships.
