Oregon Army National Guard Cpt. Philip Troy, Operations Officer, 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction - Civil Support Team (CST), Oregon National Guard, monitors incoming messages regarding potential threats the Joint Hazard Assessment Team (JHAT) may need to respond to at the World Track and Field Championships, University of Oregon, in Eugene, Ore., on July 16, 2022. JHAT teams are members of the CST, police, fire, department of energy, and K-9 handlers. They regularly patrolled the grounds to conduct sweeps for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) hazards in order to help ensure the safety of the participants and observers at the Championships. The Championships were held July 15-24 and it was the first time the event has been held in the United States.
