The Pratt & Whitney F100-PW-200 engine undergoes sea level RAM testing in the SL-2 test cell at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, headquarters of Arnold Engineering Development Complex. RAM refers to test conditions which simulate flight at the low-altitude, high-speed portion of a fighter aircraft’s flight envelope. The Air Force recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the F-15’s deployment. Models of the aircraft, engines and other F-15 components have frequently been tested in AEDC facilities over the past 50 years. (U.S. Air Force photo)
