Data for flow field grid surveys are obtained in the early 1980s in the 4-foot transonic wind tunnel at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, headquarters of Arnold Engineering Development Complex, using 5% scale models of the F-15 Eagle and Guided Bomb Unit 15 Cruciform Wing Weapon store, which is mounted on the tunnel’s Captive Trajectory System. The Air Force recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the F-15’s deployment. Models of the aircraft, engines and other F-15 components have frequently been tested by AEDC over the past 50 years.
