The trash racks at the Moose Creek Dam remain open as the Chena River runs freely at the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project in North Pole, Alaska. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Alaska District, the project protects the Fairbanks area from seasonal flooding. The trash racks ensure that when the dam retains water, trees, logs and debris do not damage the control works of the structure. (U.S. Army photo by Rachel Napolitan)
