SILVERDALE, Wash. (August 11, 2022) – The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Sustainment, Erica Plath, tours Trident Refit Facility, Bangor’s (TRFB) electrical shop during a visit to better understand how TRFB is modernizing its facilities and processes in preparation for the delivery of the Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). TRFB's core mission is repairing, incrementally overhauling, and modernizing the Pacific Fleet’s SSBN force constituting more than 60 percent of the nation’s strategic nuclear deterrent which forms the foundation of U.S. national defense strategy.
