Mitch Landrieu, senior advisor to the president, spoke with Col. Adam Czekanski, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District commander, and other U.S. Army engineer officers while visiting the Montgomery Locks and Dam, which received $857 million from the $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Aug. 18. The Upper Ohio Navigation Project is part of the National Economic Development plan for improving the Upper Ohio River Navigation. The Emsworth and Dashields locks and dams, two other vital locks and dams on the Ohio River, will also receive money for improvements from the BIL.
