PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 7, 2022) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handler) 3rd Class Quantae Thompson directs a U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion on the flight deck of amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) during takeoff, Aug. 7. The Navy-Marine Corps team, capable of both rapid response and sustained operations globally, remains America’s most persistent and versatile military instrument. Marines and Sailors of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) are underway conducting integrated training operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
