An aerial view of the labyrinth weir, emergency spillway, and service spillway at the Isabella Dam Safety Modification Project in Lake Isabella, California, Sept. 14, 2022. Crews with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District are approaching completion of construction work on the project, which includes upgrades to the auxiliary and main dams, service spillway, emergency spillway and a new labyrinth weir. The project is designed to reduce flood risk for downstream communities including Bakersfield.
