220928-N-XB010-1007 PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 28, 2022) – Quartermaster Seaman Guadalupe Perezhernandez, from Sarasota, Fla., shoots a bearing using a pelorus on the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans’ (LPD 18) port bridge wing as the ship pulls into port at Subic Bay, Philippines. New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
