SASEBO, Japan (August 02, 2022) – Steelworker 1st Class Ethan Sobalvarro of Task Unit 75.5.7 removes the custom-made patch that was utilized to repair a sinkhole at Akasaki Wharf located at US Navy Fuel Center Akasaki. Akasaki Wharf is one of the primary fueling piers for Navy assets within the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR). UCT-2 CDD/B has been tasked with executing temporary repairs at Akasaki Wharf to prevent further undermining while the pier awaits a permanent repair. (U.S. Navy photo by Lieutenant William Pelger).
