SASEBO, Japan (August 03, 2022) – Builder 1st Class Benjamin Reed assigned to Underwater Construction Team TWO (UCT-2) Construction Dive Detachment Bravo (CDD/B) conducts a pre-dive safety brief before divers enter the water to execute the final underwater concrete placement at from Akasaki Wharf, located at US Navy Fuel Station Akasaki in Sasebo, Japan. Akasaki Wharf is one of the primary fueling piers for Navy assets within the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR). UCT-2 CDD/B has been tasked with executing temporary repairs at Akasaki Wharf to prevent further undermining while the pier awaits a permanent repair.
