U.S. Marine Corps Col. Dennis Sampson, commanding officer of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), swims ashore after completing helocast water insertion training on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Oct. 26, 2022. The 26th MEU commanding officer joined the reconnaissance Marines a part of the MEU MSPF during helocast and beach training operations to speak with small unit leaders and gain a better appreciation for the various special insertion methods and capabilities the MSPF provides. Helocasting is an airborne technique used by small unit special operations forces to insert into hard-to-reach areas via bodies of water.
