NAVAL BASE KITSAP – BANGOR, Wash. (Oct. 26, 2022) A group from the program management office for the Columbia class ballistic missile submarine discusses the limitations and aged condition of a WWII-era wharf still in use at Trident Refit Facility Bangor. The discussion centered on the upgrades needed in order to be ready to maintain the Columbia class ballistic missile submarines scheduled to enter service in the coming years. TRFB employs more than 2,000 civilian & military personnel in support of our nation’s strategic deterrent mission by repairing, incrementally overhauling, and modernizing ballistic missile submarines in the Pacific Fleet.
