KINGS BAY, Ga., (Nov. 4, 2022) Veterans and family members bow their heads during the tolling of the bell during the Submarine Veterans of WWII Memorial at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Two World War II veterans attended the ceremony in addition to hundreds of submarine veterans and family members. The tolling of the bell honors the 65 U.S. submarines and 3,897 submariners lost at sea who remain on eternal patrol.
